1 dead, 1 injured in shooting on San Francisco Muni train near the Castro

Two people were shot dead on a public transit train in San Francisco on Wednesday morning.

One person was killed and another injured and taken to a nearby hospital in the incident, sources said a social media post by San Francisco County Supervisor Myrna Melgar. According to the report, the second person suffered non-life-threatening injuries a twitter post by Raj Vaswani, a commander of the San Francisco Police Department.

The shooting occurred around 9:54 a.m. on a San Francisco Muni train between Forest Hill and Castro stations within the city. According to Melgar, the perpetrator ran off the train at Castro station.

According to Melgar, the area is not considered an active shooter situation.
