Joel Kim Booster

Joel Kim Booster is a standup comedian, author and actor. He is known for his hilarious stand-up special psychosexual and for writing and starring in one of the best queer movies of the summer, fire island.

As one of the best comedians in the country Jerrod Carmichael used his masterpiece of a standup special, Rothaniel, to come into the world. Talk about courage! He hosted SNL in 2022 and wrote and directed many of the shows he’s appeared on throughout his career … and he’s still going strong.

He is currently working on a film entitled Poor thingswhere he will portray a character named Harry Astley.

Julio Torres

Julio Torres is another queer comedian totally worth checking out! Known for his absurd comedy special in which they explained why a variety of small figures, tiny objects and dioramas are his favorites, my favorite shapes.

Torres also stars, writes and is an executive producer on the HBO series Los Espookys, which follows a group of friends as they turn their love for all things spooky into a successful business. Season 2 of Los Espookys just been released. Torres is also set to direct his own A24 film!

Victoria Alonso

Victoria Alonso is a widely recognized film producer. She is President of Physical, Post Production, VFX and Animation at Marvel Studios. She’s queer too! She has worked on every film and Disney+ TV show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While Alonso may not be a movie star or appear in any of the films, having a queer person behind the scenes in senior positions will help create safer and more inclusive spaces for future queer creatives!

Mae Martin

The Canadian comedian, actor and author best known for the series Feel well is Mae Martin. You are a queer creative who shaped the entertainment industry. Martin originally started out in a comedy troupe and eventually transitioned into film and television writing. They identify as non-binary and queer.

Their work has been widely recognized and celebrated, and in 2022 they appeared on the HBO Max series The flight attendant as Grace St James. Who knows what will happen next, but fans shouldn’t doubt that they have some wonderful projects in the works.

Silas Howard

Silas Howard is best known for being the first trans director to direct an episode Transparent.

Lilly and Lana Wachowski
