2022 was an excellent film year. Top Gun: Maverick soared to incredible heights to become the fifth highest-grossing domestic film of all time Everything everywhere at once surprised audiences by delivering one of the most exciting and interesting plots in recent memory while garnering plenty of Oscar buzz.
The year isn’t over yet, however, and there are plenty more releases for audiences to look forward to.
“The Banshees of Inisherin” – Martin McDonagh
Five years later Three billboards outside of Ebbing, Missouri took home two Academy Awards, writer and director Martin McDonagh returns to the big screen The Banshees by Inisherin.
The film follows two lifelong friends whose lives are changed forever when one of them abruptly ends their friendship. The trailer reveals that the film is packed with McDonagh’s signature humor and witty dialogue, and reunites with him In Bruges Stars, Colin Farell and Brendan Gleesonenough to get someone to buy a ticket.
“Halloween Ends” – David Gordon Green

“Black Adam” – Jaume Collet-Serra
Given its size and reliability at the box office, it’s hard to believe The stone has never directed a superhero film. This oversight is finally being corrected Black Adam, DC’s newest superhero offering. The trailers show that The Rock is the perfect choice for the role as he brings physicality and his trademark charm to the role.
Joining The Rock is an all-star cast that includes the likes Pierce Brosnan, Aldis Hodgeand Viola Davis, who will reprise the role of Amanda Waller. We may have had to wait a while to see The Rock as a hero, but we have a feeling the wait will be worth it.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Ryan Coogler
The recent Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Trailers have had fans counting down the days until it hits theaters, and fans are dying to find out who will take over the mantle of Black Panther following Black Panther’s tragic death Chadwick Boseman. The film will feature both Namor the Submariner (played by Tenoch Huerta) and Riri Williams (Dominic Dorn), laying the groundwork for characters that are likely to play a big role in the MCU in the future.
Although it will certainly be an emotional and dark cinema experience, we are convinced of it Ryan Coogler and the rest of the cast will pay Chadwick Boseman the tribute he deserves.
We all love a good original horror story, and The menu is as unique and timely as any film released this year. The film follows a young couple (played by Anya Taylor Joy and Nicholas Holt) who travel to a remote island to dine at a highly exclusive restaurant where the chef has prepared a shocking menu.
Trailers have hinted that this film will be tense and atmospheric while also poking fun at the exclusivity of restaurants like these. The film also deserves a special mention for the casting Ralph Fiennes as a villain, something we’d like to see more of from him.
“Bones and all” – Luca Guadagnino
The excitement is great for bones and allthe upcoming movie that will reunite Luca Guadagninothe director of call me by your namewith the breakout star of the film, Timothy Chalamet. Chalamet is accompanied by an exceptional ensemble cast Markus Rylance, Taylor Russelland Chloe Sevigny.
The film is said to be a flawless blend of horror and romance. It follows Maren and Lee, a couple who meet and fall in love as Maren tries to quell the dark urges she’s always had.
“Strange World” – Don Hall and Qui Nguyen
strange world, the latest offering from Disney Animation, is a very intriguing perspective. The animated film follows the Clades, a family of legendary explorers whose differences have the potential to ruin their most important mission. strange world features an immensely impressive voice cast Jake Gyllenhaal, Lucy Liuand Gabrielle Union.
The film promises a crazy adventure full of strange creatures, non-stop action and, as the title suggests, a very strange world. If you love animated movies as much as we do, then this is surely one to check out.
“Violent Night” – Tommy Wirkola
violent night is everything we didn’t know we needed. David harbor Stars as Santa Claus who must spring into action when a wealthy family is taken hostage. violent night promises to be hyper-violent, filled to the brim with Christmassy puns and an absolute laugh-out-stopper considering David Harbor is involved.
There have been many attempts to make the definitive Christmas horror film, but we think this one could take the crown. It’s also the perfect reminder to stay on the nice list, because those on the naughty list won’t enjoy a Merry Christmas.
“Avatar: The Way of Water” – James Cameron
After thirteen years of waiting, audiences will soon return to the fantastical world of Pandora. JamesCameron is back in the director’s chair, utilizing the latest in special effects technology to create a cinematic experience that will most likely surpass the original film. Avatar: The Way of Water follows Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), who now lives on Pandora with his new family.
Their idyllic existence is soon interrupted by a known threat, forcing Jake to work with the Na’vi army to protect their beautiful planet. Worthington leads a cast that includes Zoe Saldana, Kate Winsletand Michelle Yeoh. Three more sequels are planned and are already being worked on avatar 4we can expect to spend a lot more time in Pandora in the years to come.
