22 displaced in Tacoma apartment fire Thanksgiving night

Tacoma Fire Brigade responded to a fire around 9 p.m. at an apartment block in the 3200 block of S. Mason Street. According to Tacoma Fire, arriving crews encountered smoke and flames billowing from the second and third floor decks of a building.

The Tacoma Police Department said many residents were not at home at the time of the fire but said 22 people had to be evacuated due to damage. Six are believed to be receiving support from the American Red Cross.

Authorities have yet to share any details about the injuries.
