2:22 ‘A Ghost Story’ star Sophia Bush condemns man caught taking picture in women’s dressing room

The producers and star of 2:22 A ghost story have issued statements after a man was caught trying to photograph female performers in their dressing room.

The incident reportedly happened over the weekend at London’s Apollo Theatre, the production’s fifth venue since it premiered in 2021.

The new cast, which also includes Ricky Champ, Clifford Samuel and Jaime Winstone, gave their first preview on Sunday night (May 14) when the incident reportedly took place.

“The producers of 2:22 A ghost story wish to express their anger following an incident at the theater prior to yesterday’s first preview of the new cast at the Apollo Theater,” Runaway Entertainment said in a statement.

“A member of the public attempted to take photos of cast members in a private room. We are grateful that team members successfully alerted stakeholders. The person in question fled.”

The company said it was taking steps to increase security at the venue. “It’s sad that the actions of an unscrupulous person could have an impact on how our cast feels able to engage with audiences in the theater,” they added.

The Independent has reached out to Met Police for comment.

Meanwhile, in a statement on social media, Bush added, “For the people who are sad that I don’t have a stage door tonight… I hate to say this, but transparency feels important.” A man has put a camera in the window of our ladies’ dressing room before the show this afternoon. Apparently he held the corner, waited to hear our voices, and then slipped his camera through our curtains.

“Luckily he was quickly met and blocked by a male colleague who happened to be outside, saw him acting strange, realized what was going on when HE heard us girls talking and jumped in when he saw the Camera invaded our private area.

“A horrible, horrible, kind of misogynist predator who thinks he has a claim on us is ruining a milestone night for every single one of you nice people. This threat leads to a security response that changes all our plans. Forever? Perhaps. I do not know yet…

“It sucks. It colors a beautiful night with something ugly, scary and sad,” she continued.

“So. Thank you to everyone who showed up with love. To the predatory guy? Screw you. I’m hoping someone present at our opening might be able to help us figure out who you are… You deserve to be caught.

“And for heaven’s sake, can’t women have some bloody fresh air?”
