4 characters who were reluctant to leave Bridgerton after Season 3

Bridgeton Season 3 is expected to release on Netflix sometime in 2023 and we are so excited to see Colin and Penelope’s love story. Luckily, we don’t have to worry about the hit period drama not returning for another installment as it has already been renewed for a fourth season. However, we can’t help but wonder if some are our favorites Bridgeton Characters will not be returning for season four.

We’ve already seen Regé-Jean Page (Simon/Duke of Hastings) leave the show after the first season. Then, in January 2023, Phoebe Dyvenor (Daphne) announced that she had left the series and would not be appearing in season three. However, she did let fans know that there is a chance she could return for future seasons.

So can we expect more cast-offs in the future? Who knows, but there’s definitely a way. Below we’ve decided to share a list of four characters we’d be reluctant to see Bridgeton Season 3.

Bridgerton characters we’d hate to leave after Season 3

Anton and Kate

The love story of Anthony and Kate took center stage Bridgeton Season 2 and we loved every second of it! At first we were nervous we wouldn’t be seeing them in season three, but Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley confirmed they would be returning in March 2022.

Though season three will focus primarily on Colin and Penelope, Ashley spoke to Deadline, sharing with Anthony and Kate that “everything is just beginning.” So we can expect to see how married life treats them in season three. Also, we might even see Kate having a baby in season 3 since she and Anthony have kids in the books after all.

But what about Bridgeton Season 4 and other future seasons? Well, if the show follows the books, we should see Anthony and Kate in future seasons as well. We might not see them that often, but they should appear in some scenes. However, the writers could choose a different path than the books, and season three could be the last we see from the pair. Of course we don’t want that, but it’s possible.

Colin and Penelope

Since Colin and Penelope’s love story is told in Season 3, there’s a chance we won’t see it in future seasons. However, that’s only the case if the show moves away from the books. If the historical drama follows the books, we should see them in many more seasons.

Based on the books, Colin was intended to appear in the seasons centered around Benedict, Eloise, Francesca, and Gregory. On the other hand, Penelope should appear in the seasons that focus on Benedict and Hyacinth. Let’s say the authors decide to follow the books loosely. Hopefully we’ll see Colin and Penelope return for at least one more season. We’re dying to see more of this pairing.
