7 Best Google Assistant Speakers (2023): Smart Displays, Portable, and Soundbars

There are a few Voice assistants are in a tug-of-war over who controls the smart speakers in your home: Amazon’s Alexa, Google’s Assistant, and Apple’s Siri. We prefer Google. Its assistant answers questions more accurately, has an easier setup process, and connects to more and more smart home devices. All of the devices below have a built-in Google Assistant, so you can ask them any questions you search Google for, or ask them to control smart home products like robot vacuums, smart plugs, lights, and TVs.

Be sure to check out our handy guide on how to maintain your privacy as much as possible while enjoying the luxury of smart assistants. We also have many other buying guides, including the best smart displays, the best smart speakers, and the best Alexa speakers.

Updated July 2023: We added the Google Pixel tablet. We’ve also removed some tips as Google no longer provides software updates for some third-party displays.
