90 Day Fiancé: Deavan Clegg Updates Fans on Son’s Scary Health Condition

Just a few months ago, Deavan Clegg, former cast member of 90 Day Fiancé, announced that not only is she expecting her third child, son Taeyang, but she has also been diagnosed with cancer. Fans of the show remember Deavan for her very difficult relationship with Jihoon Lee. She moved to South Korea to be with him and they ended up having Taeyang together.

Things weren’t going well so she moved back to Utah. Shortly after her breakup with Jihoon, she began dating Topher Park, who she is still dating and they seem happier than ever. They are expecting a child together and with everything that happens with Taeyang, she tries to keep it together as best as possible.

90 days fiance: Taeyang’s health

Deavan announced that her son had been diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and had started chemotherapy. She set up GoFundMe to pay his medical bills as well. Her family, friends and fans have all been very supportive and she is doing her best to stick together with whatever is going on in her world right now.

90 Day Fiance: Deavan Clegg updates fans on son’s health status

She has continued to post updates about her son and the last one she shared was in July. She decided it was time to share more with fans, and last week she made an announcement that was pretty sad.

Her mother shared on the GoFundMe page: “Cancer, especially childhood cancer, sets a somber tone of duality and draws focus on both the good and bad times. The good times are better now, of course, but so are the bad times. The good. I recently started teaching Taeyang how to play soccer (for non-US citizens: soccer).

He is doing very well and enjoying it. The days after his treatments in the hospital, I have to use a yoga ball. Sounds weird I know, but here’s why. On treatment days, Taeyang has difficulty walking, he can’t climb stairs, he can’t jump, and he says, “It doesn’t work” because of his legs.”

She continued: “After treatment day, which is today, he wants to play but he is not stable on his own feet and often falls just trying to walk fast. This is where the yoga ball comes into play. When he pushes it with his feet, laughs and feels like a child again, a child without this terrible disease, when he falls, the yoga ball catches him and he rolls gently on the ground laughing. Children with cancer deserve to laugh. All children deserve to laugh. Children with cancer deserve to play games, run outside, and enjoy what it means to be a kid. All children deserve that.”

She continued, “And now for the worse. Taeyang is becoming aware of his treatments and today he didn’t want to leave. He said, “No doctor, doctor causes band-aids.” It’s so hard, I can see it on Deavan’s face and I know other parents of kids with cancer feel it. We wish there was no pain, we wish we could just wave a magic wand and make it all go away. We can’t, but we keep going and remember, tomorrow, tomorrow he’ll be able to play football again, and although he’s clumsy and stumbles a lot, he’ll laugh and forget about the illness, at least until the next day of treatment. ”

Our thoughts are with Deavan and Taeyang and we hope the doctors can continue to help him and put him on the road to recovery.
