The 90 Day fandom is a pretty forgiving fandom, so far everyone in it is accepting of other people’s cultures (even if they find some of the practices questionable) and we even forgive the fact that in some cast members’ cases we can only see what they say when subtitles are provided. (For example, this season it is Thais Ramone, in some other seasons it was Biniyam Shibre.)
So before anyone accuses the fandom of blanket Islamophobia or discrimination against bilingual people, believe me when I say that is not the case, our falling out with Mohamed Abdelhamed and Yvette Arellano is a trait that clearly seems to be his own, and us We’re not sure he can help, but if he can… let’s hope he will soon.
90 Day Fiancé: Why the 90 Day fandom can’t stand Mohamed Abdelhamed
We’re not sure why he has that particular rhythm and intonation, but no one in the history of a bilingual person who’s ever been on the show has ever spoken like that, and we’re… over it. Mohamed also seems to offer some strange hints, some of the more neurodivergent members of the fandom are completely confused by him for being calm and smiling while supposedly fighting with Yve.
Even for someone not on the spectrum this is weird, there are some people who appreciate that he doesn’t “get too animated” during a fight but for the rest of us here we sit confused and frustrated and waiting for him to lose it one day.
Honestly, many of us might feel better if he did. Because the odd intonation and rhythm of his words and the way he smiles during the fight — does he exude low-key cult leader vibes to anyone else? Granted, cult leaders need to have at least some charisma, and it seems like Mohamed, whatever charisma may be left in his home country, he forgot to pack it along with the bidet he made such a fuss about. For now, we’ll put up with Mohamed’s odd way of speaking, but that doesn’t mean we have to like it. Stay tuned!!!
