A job listing suggests Forza Horizon 6 has already began development

Dust from Mexico’s virtual living desert in Forza Horizon 5 remains unresolved as the game hasn’t even come out for a year. Even so, the speed masters at Playground Games may have already begun development on the hit-racer sequel, Forza Horizon 6.
These details come from the May 6th Playground Games supported job listing. The listing makes it clear that the studio is “looking for a Level Designer to join.” Forza Horizon team.” The list then goes on to provide a description of the candidate’s duties and required skills.
Prepare
With the job listing stating that the studio is looking for someone new for Forza Horizon team, there’s plenty of reason to speculate as to whether this means the next entry is in development. Although it may seem a bit early, keep in mind that it’s been six months since its release Forza Horizon 5. The majority of the team can get a chance to break a little bit, all while keeping the existing title up to date with a variety of new vehicles and events.
All things considered, developed for Forza Horizon 6 will definitely be in it Soon stages, especially looking at this list makes it seem like the work on world building hasn’t started yet. On that note, all of this begs the question…
Where is next?
A few months before the reveal Forza Horizon 5, there has been some intense speculation as to where the Horizon Festival’s host nation will be located. There is a buzz about a “Spanish-speaking country,” which some people have come to think of Puerto Rico. But, of course, we know that Mexico is the real destination.
In addition to Mexico, the Horizon Festival has been held in the US, UK, Australia and France (in conjunction with parts of Italy). Therefore, there is no real template for determining where the Playground might next aim. Even so, there are still some signs to watch out for.
In a recent video interview with Digital Foundry, a Playground executive addressed how part of the decision-making process for the next location Forza Horizon Location is determining if a country is “big enough” and offers diverse, unique landscapes and vibrant cultures. This is a very broad set of determinants, so it doesn’t really narrow down any potential candidates. Or, isn’t it?
Those descriptions at least mean that we should expect the next slot at a larger size, excluding small locations like Puerto Rico. Nor should we expect it to be in a place where the theme is too similar to the languages already mentioned. So Latin America is out of the question and so should any languages in Eastern Europe and North America. That’s why ideal leaving two locations: the Asian and African continents.
Both of these continents contain vast countries that fit the descriptions of what Playground looks for in a new language. So yeah, it’s finally time to mention Japan as a potential candidate. It’s a sought-after country because five by many members of Forza Horizon community. So maybe, just maybe, it might finally have time to shine Forza Horizon 6.
The archipelago is diverse in geography and topography, from craggy, icy mountains in the north, to dense forests with winding passes in the center and humid tropics in the north. male.
In addition to the small area in Forza Horizon 3 hosted the Hot Wheels Open and conveniently off the coast of Australia, Forza never really settled for a position on the island. Coming to Japan is sure to shake things up visually and mechanically, not to mention the depth and variability of Japanese car culture that you can explore.
It’s basically the perfect location for a game like Horizon, really – hence why it is so actively requested by the community. Even so, Playground can score a hat-trick and really surprise us wherever it decides to venture next. Wherever that may be, we know the adventure still has a long way to go.
Keep your horsepower
Consider that Forza Horizon 6 is likely still in the planning stages, the absolute earliest we can expect it to be released is 2023. But, if it goes on the trail of Forza Horizon 5 by adopting a three-year development cycle instead of a two-year cycle, perhaps 2024 will be the actual release year.
However, remember that Forza Horizon 5 hasn’t even received its first expansion yet. Plus, production on the latest platform Forza Motorsport not even finished yet. So there’s quite a bit of time to pass and a lot of fun to be had with the present Forza project before the community dives into the weird world of anything Forza Horizon 6 must provide.
