Spoilers from ABC’s ‘General Hospital’ (GH) reveal the weekly promo teases a major milestone celebration. Thanks to anticipation, this celebration came late. However, the wait was not worth it. Here are a few reasons why the episode didn’t work.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Good
Let’s start with some positive energy. General Hospital spoilers reveal the episode got off to a solid start with Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) both awaiting medical attention. Hamilton Finn’s (Josh Swickard) jokes about Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and not wanting to follow his example were amusing.
And Sonny, who went along after being lectured by Finn about overdoing it by claiming Chase did it too, was great. It showed a lighter side to Sonny after all the drama. And Violet was adorable when she finally agreed to obey Mayor Laura Webber (Genie Francis) and stop scratching.
We also had a kick from Britt Westbourne (Kelly Theibaud) who got an MCAT question wrong and then pointed out that that particular question was like algebra – you’ll never use that information in real medicine. However, things took a turn pretty quickly.
ABC spoilers “General Hospital”: Problem #1
First off, “General Hospital” spoilers reveal that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was part of the team that gathered to help after something called The Friends of Port Charles managed to get a recall request against her . Sure, as a business owner and someone associated with Laura, being out there in the space isn’t for her. However, after what happened at that visiting hearing, there’s no way Carly could be in a room with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and not be giving him death glares every few seconds.
ABC General Hospital spoilers: Issue #2
Overall, the episode felt choppy and disorganized. Almost like it was assembled in a hurry. While it was nice to see a few flashbacks, there just wasn’t enough cohesive story for us. And it was just weird that Laura would just assume Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) signed that petition out of revenge. After all this years? We think someone needs a vacation to clear their head.
Speaking of which…that little contradicting voice at the end should hit all the right chords. However, there is one thing wrong with it. She shouldn’t have even bothered to write it. And certainly not as if she would accept the recall and whatever comes of it.
Bobbie herself said she was duped. She thought she was going to sign a petition to save the whales. This means their signature is fraudulent and invalid. While Bobbie did mention that others might have been tricked as well, it wasn’t handled the way it should have been. Maybe nobody really wanted to call her back? This is certainly a legal challenge.
ABC “General Hospital” spoilers: Issue #3
We usually like Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). His religious conversion amused us before. However, his extreme stance on helping to remove the “sinful” Laura from office with this comment was odd. Especially since he was so desperate to get her to believe his changing behaviors since he wasn’t trying to kill her. So he knew someone else was targeting her and Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) and wanted her to be on the lookout. So why try to ruin her career?
Also, we call his presence in Pentonville a foul. Why on earth would the Fed release a prisoner from their custody? Especially when everyone was talking about his captivity in the Midwest, it meant he was removed from any influences/connections. It sounded completely wrong no matter how religious he was supposed to be.
