AC Milan still want Hakim Ziyech but Chelsea eye permanent clause

The summer transfer window is here and there’s a lot of gossip about who’s going where. Transfer Talk brings you the latest in rumours, rumours, comings, goings and of course deals done!

LIVE TOP STORY: Milan still keen on Ziyech

AC Milan haven’t given up hope of signing the Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech but still prefer a loan with the option of making the change permanent, according to Calciomercato.

The Serie A champions’ current priority is to bring in a centre-back and a midfielder, but Ziyech would be seen as icing on their transfer window.

Charles De Ketelaere has completed his move from Club Brugge to FC Rossoneriand while that won’t stop Milan from signing Ziyech, it will determine how they will proceed.

Ziyech is very open to a move to Milan and would even be willing to lower his current salary of over €6m a year.

The two clubs remain at odds as Milan want an option clause but Chelsea prefer a commitment to sign the Moroccan on a permanent basis after the loan period.

All of this has resulted in Ziyech having to wait to leave Stamford Bridge, which could even make the ex-Ajax Amsterdam man look for other options.

08:00 CET: Frenkie de JongBarcelona advisors have arrived at the club amid ongoing uncertainty about the midfielder’s future, with Manchester United and Chelsea still pursuing his signing.

Ali Dursun and Hasan Cetinkaya, who also represent Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite, flew into the city on Wednesday and are expected to hold talks with the Catalan club about their two clients in the coming days.

De Jong’s future has been the subject of much attention throughout the summer. ESPN revealed in July that Barca had agreed a fee of around €85m with United, including surcharges, while Chelsea are also interested. However, the player has so far preferred to stay at the Camp Nou.

Barca, meanwhile, have told De Jong that he will have to reduce his salary if he wants to stay, although sources have told ESPN he is reluctant to do so at this point. Sources confirmed to ESPN earlier this week that Barca sent a letter to De Jong’s camp in July warning that the contract extension he signed under the previous board in 2020 contained alleged irregularities.

Sources close to the player said the contract is legal and claim that the letter Barca sent aimed to put pressure on De Jong to either accept a move or agree to a pay cut.
