AC Milan vs Newcastle LIVE: Champions League latest score and goal updates

37th minute: Considering there have been no goals yet, this game has been a blast so far. AC Milan are quick on the counterattack and Newcastle’s defense is looking increasingly nervous.

A cross comes to Leao, who nods it into the six-yard box. Giroud attempts an overhead kick but misses the ball and Samuel Chukwueze’s follow-up shot heads over the crossbar.

34th minute: Off the line! Newcastle lives on the edge here. A broken pass comes to Rafael Leao, who passes it on before being sent behind the Newcastle defense by Theo Hernandez.

Leao weaves his way into the box, goes past two defenders, but botches what should have been an easy shot. However, Newcastle cannot clear the danger and shots from first Tommaso Pobega and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are blocked, one even being cleared at the goal line.

Somehow Newcastle survives.

31st minute: Shot! Milan stormed across the pitch on the counterattack, Theo Hernandez flew down the left wing. He keeps the ball in play and sends a low cross into the penalty area.

Olivier Giroud comes close to the near post but shoots wide! That was close.

28th minute: Newcastle wins a free kick in the middle of the pitch and hits the ball back into the defence. A cross pass is won in the air by Anthony Gordon, who also wins another free kick after being brought down by Milan captain Davide Calabria.

25th minute: AC Milan already had eight shots on goal, six of which reached the goal. Nick Pope is earning his paycheck so far tonight.

The longer Newcastle can keep them quiet, the more likely it is that Eddie Howe’s men can score themselves.

22nd minute: Ruben Loftus-Cheek finds himself with the ball in the inside right channel and brings it into the final third before firing it with a relatively powerful shot.

The shot is quite decent but continues to rise and Nick Pope watches calmly as it flies over his goal.

19th minute: Chance! Milan continue to create the best chances in this game and Nick Pope continues to deny them. A corner is thrown into the middle of the penalty area by Rade Krunic, who skillfully picks out the oncoming Theo Hernandez.

His header hits the ground but bounces to a comfortable height for Pope, who steers it over the crossbar. Newcastle then defended the next set piece well and earned a goal kick.

16th minute: Newcastle were under pressure as Milan tried to turn their possession into an opening goal.

Nick Pope makes a few more good interventions to keep the ball away from his goal before the Magpies manage to get it to the other side of the pitch.

13 min: Save! Nick Pope comes to Newcastle’s rescue after they give the ball away in their own half. The defenders try to pull back as the ball is sent to Tommaso Pobega.

Pobega takes a touch of the ball and shoots a lovely shot towards goal, but Pope jumps to his right and deflects the ball away.

However, Milan is not finished yet and circles the ball to the back post with a cross. Samuel Chukwueze is there to turn the ball towards goal, but Pope has covered the near post and makes another great stop.

11th minute: A nice change of play from Newcastle sends the ball across the field to Anthony Gordon. He brings the ball to the ground and plays a short pass past Davide Calabria before sprinting behind the defender and collecting the loose ball.

Gordon dribbles into the box, but his last touch is poor and he can’t see a teammate in the box. Milan plays the ball away.
