As all longtime fans of Sand sellers you know, when Adam Sandler decides to take on one of his rare dramatic roles, maybe it’ll be a good one. HustleNetflix’s upcoming sports drama directed by Jeremiah Zagar (We are animals) seems like the next film to showcase Sandler’s considerable dramatic talent, as well as one for Philadelphia fans.
In Hustle, Sandler plays Stanley Sugarman, a Philadelphia 76ers talent scout who is being eliminated. He is trying to make a name for himself in the market by looking for the next big player abroad. Stanley thinks he might have a winner in Bo Cruz (Utah Jazz power forward Juancho Hernangómez), a Spanish phenom playing in the streets of his hometown. Together, the two became a pair of cards that coincided with the hope that they would both make a splash in the NBA.
From the trailer, Hustle it looks like it has the potential to be a good sports movie, a clearly nice basic story with room for a change outside of the familiar, with lots of local Philly flavours. For his part, Sandler didn’t seem as comfortable as Uncut Gems character, which is good for our collective blood pressure, though the film’s early June release date means Sixers fans may already be ready, depending on how the Playoffs play out over the next few days. next day.
Hustle premieres on Netflix on June 8.
