Adventure for all ages at this giant Lake Chelan jungle gym

CHELAN, Wash. – If you’re looking for a little adventure in Chelan, go for a walk in the wilderness and head to High Trek Chelan.

The High Trek Chelan is a high climb over Lake Chelan, boasting two ziplines, a trusty cascade, and sixty different obstacles to conquer.

“It’s never boring,” says Robert Bordner, co-owner of High Trek Chelan. “It’s always fun. It’s always fun, there’s always a new way to try things.”

Children and adults ages 10 and up can take the High Trek Chelan main course, which has three different levels – the highest leads to two ziplines and a trusting fall experience (trust me, it’s true. exciting).

The third level also boasts stunning views of Lake Chelan.

“The view on the ground is great,” said Bordner. “And then you go forty meters into the air and they get better.”

Before you begin your course, the friendly High Trek Chelans will put your helmet and harness on and introduce you to the course. The course is set up to ensure that everyone who explores it is safe – so if you fall off an element, your harness will keep you safe and suspended.

High Trek Chelan accepts hikes, but making a reservation is the best way to secure a spot on a busy day. They also welcome group events, like company outings and birthday parties.

“People leave with a smile on their face feeling like they’ve accomplished something, which just goes a long way in building character, building experience and building relationships.” Bordner said.
