Afghan Capital Sees Multiple Casualties From Explosion at Mosque

KABUL — At least 27 people were killed or injured in a large blast in the Afghan capital on Wednesday, in the week that the Taliban celebrated the first anniversary of their takeover of the country.

According to government media, a bomb attack on a mosque during evening prayers in northern Kabul killed its imam, a pro-Taliban religious cleric, Mawlawi Amir Mohammad Kabuli. He also ran an Islamic school on the premises.
