Netflix Lifers, we have bad news to report. Unfortunately, the popular teen sitcom moesha will be leaving our favorite streamer next July. And we’re not talking about Netflix leaving a season or two. The entire six-season series will be available to streamers very soon.
Originally ordered as a pilot for CBS, moesha was later acquired by former television station UPN, where it aired for six seasons from January 1996 to May 2001. It quickly became one of the biggest shows on the network.
Starring Grammy Award-winning singer Brandy Norwood as the title character Moesha, the series followed Moesha as she navigated life, juggling school, friendships and romance while trying to keep her family together.
William Allen Young, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Countess Vaughn, Lamont Bentley, Shar Jackson, Marcus T. Paulk, Yvette Wilson, Fredro Starr, Ray J and many others were also in the cast.
When will Moesha leave Netflix?
The teen sitcom is leaving Netflix on Monday July 31, 2023. This means you can watch all six seasons for the last time moesha on Netflix is July 30th. So if you’ve been holding back on watching this show, you might want to watch it soon before it leaves the streamer.
Why is Moesha leaving Netflix?
Netflix acquired the streaming rights to the teenage sitcom back in 2020 and released it on August 1, 2020. It looks like the streamer only has the license deal for the series for around three years, as it will end on August 31, 2020. July 2023 starts. So basically, the license agreement had expired, and that’s why moesha leaves Netflix.
