Painkiller is a new Netflix limited series exploring the early days of the US opioid crisis and Purdue Pharma’s role in it. The focus of the show is the legacy of the Sackler family. It’s about a detective, played by Uzo Aduba, who wants to hunt her down and once and for all expose the dangers of her blockbuster drug Oxycontin.
The series is based on Patrick Radden Keefes New Yorker Article and the book Painkillers: An Empire of Deception and the Origin of America’s Opioid Epidemic by Barry Meier. Apart from Aduba, Painkiller Starring Matthew Broderick, Taylor Kitsch, West Duchovny, Clark Gregg and others.
