Amber Heard Wants $10.35M Verdict In Johnny Depp Thrown Out Over Fake Juror

Amber Heard’s attorneys have asked a judge to reverse the $10.35 million judgment against her because she believes one of the jurors was improperly reviewed and was not a proper juror.

“From a legal perspective, given the evidence and the law, the verdict is excessive and should be overturned,” argued Elaine Bredehoft and Ben Rottenborn in the motion.

Depp was awarded compensatory and punitive damages after finding allegations she made in an article to be “false” and that she had acted with “actual malice.”

“The information on the jury list does not appear to match the identity and demographics of any of the jurors,” the document said. “Juryman No. 15 was apparently born in 1970, not 1945 as reported and trusted by the parties – including Ms. Heard – in selecting a jury panel.”

Heard’s attorneys write that the jury’s identity has not been confirmed by the court.

“This warrants an investigation by this court to determine whether the jury was actually summoned and whether the parties’ rights to due process were circumvented. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, this may justify overturning the judgment in its entirety and subjecting this matter to a new trial.”
