Amy Robach and TJ Holmes were both fired from Good Morning America yesterday and the network offered good reasons why the pair are being fired, Media Take Out has learned.
According to TMZ, Amy was fired for allegedly drinking alcohol at work. The network almost called her a “drunk” in a new report.
The new report claimed that the matchmaking was “extremely controversial,” with ABC officials accusing both Amy and TJ of various forms of wrongdoing.”
According to the network, Amy had alcohol in her dressing room, which was a policy violation. Amy’s team has disputed these claims, claiming that some of the bottles were sent to her by top ABC News executives.
But there is more. According to the network, Amy went to the College Football National Championship game a year ago and came into work drunk the next day.
And TJ’s claims – well, we all know what that is. According to multiple reports, TJ had as many as five affairs with ABC News staffers, some of whom were much younger and less senior than the on-air host.
However, there is good news for Amy and TJ. Media Take Out learned they will be paid “a portion” of their remaining contract to just quietly disappear.
According to a TV insider who spoke to Media Take Out, TJ’s career as a TV news anchor is over… and Amy will have to “work hard” to get back on the air in the future.
