Android users receive a free upgrade from Google – and gamers will love it

GOOGLE enables a select number of Android users to bring their favorite mobile games to the big screen.

The tech giant has launched a beta test of a PC application that allows users to play mobile games on a laptop or desktop, known as Google Play Games.

More than 100 games are currently available in the beta regions

“Not only can you enjoy your favorite Android games on a PC, but you can also have keyboard and mouse access, seamless syncing between devices, and integration with Google Play Points,” Google wrote on the Google Play Games website.

“The Google Play Games mobile app is primarily focused on the instant games experience, where you can jump straight into casual games,” the company said.

“In the future, ‘Google Play Games’ will refer to the PC experience where you can enjoy your favorite Android games.”

The beta trial has opened in 58 countries including the UK, US, Australia, France, Germany and Brazil.

According to Google, anyone in those regions with an eligible account and PC can download the beta.

More than 100 games are currently available in the beta regions.

However, Google has encouraged users to keep an eye out for new games to be added “on a regular basis”.

Android users just need a computer compatible with the trial version to try it out for themselves.

However, it’s important to note that the new gaming option is only available for Windows PC owners and isn’t ready for Apple Mac fans just yet.

To check if your PC meets Google’s requirements, check out this list of requirements:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 (v2004)
  • Storage: Solid State Drive (SSD) with 10 GB available storage space
  • Graphics: IntelⓇ UHD Graphics 630 GPU or equivalent
  • Processor: 4 physical CPU cores (some games require an Intel CPU)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Windows administrator account
  • Hardware virtualization must be enabled

To easily install the beta program on your PC follow these steps:

  1. Go to on your Windows computer
  2. Click Download.
  3. To install the app, open the downloaded file and then follow the instructions.
    • Installation may take a few minutes.

If your computer does not meet the minimum requirements, you will be notified and the installation will not continue.
