Andy Dick Sexual Battery Allegations: Investigation Paused

Actor and comedian Andy Dick was arrested on Wednesday, May 11, in Orange County, Calif. for sexual assault, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Rolling Stone. Dick was sent to the Orange County Jail.

The incident was reported around 9:00 am on May 11. A man told authorities he was a suspected victim of an assault, and he was later taken to a hospital by the sheriff’s department for a battery investigation. The alleged victim’s name was not released.

The arrest appeared to have been livestreamed via a YouTube account broadcasting from the RV campground where Dick was reportedly living TMZ reported first. In the video, officers escort Dick from the RV he was in to their cars, handcuff him and search him. Officers were also filmed wearing gloves entering a mobile home.

In April, Dick had a separate visit from officers in Las Vegas when they conducted a social check on Dick after a man who also lived in the home he was staying in pulled a gun on a livestream TMZ.

Dick has previously been accused of inappropriate behavior. As The Hollywood Reporter Notes that Dick was charged with one sexual battery and one simple battery in 2018 after a woman claimed he squeezed her buttocks while walking past her on a sidewalk. Dick was also eliminated from independent film Raise Buchanan in 2017 over allegations of sexual harassment.

In late May, authorities announced that the investigation into Dick’s alleged actions had been suspended because the alleged victim refused to cooperate with police, according to a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

“The case is being discontinued because the victim is uncooperative,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Sgt. said. Scott Steinle told NBC News.
