“The name of the band seems to allude to how limited expectations are,” Turner told The Guardian in 2022 about the meaning behind the Arctic Monkeys’ band name. “If you realized that you were going to do this 20 years later, you might have had another hour in that meeting.” Turner also told The Guardian how the band’s music has changed over the years. “I like the idea that I’m getting better… I mean distillation,” he said. “I think I better choose a time to expose the idea behind the song. But you have to be comfortable with the idea that everything doesn’t have to be a pop song.”
In October 2022, the Arctic Monkeys announced that their 2023 North American tour will begin in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in August 2023 and end in Inglewood, California in September 2023.
