Are John B and Sarah really married in Outer Banks Season 3?

John B and Sarah, played by former real-life couple Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline, are the central pairing of Outer Banks. The fearless Pogue leader and former Kook princess are a perfect match in treasure hunter heaven.

The fan-favorite couple, also known as Val and Vlad, are back Outer Banks Season 3 for another roller coaster ride. From Poguelandia and back again, John B and Sarah must once again deal with gold, their families and all the uncertainties in between.

You may remember this in Outer Banks Season 2, John B and Sarah got married. But was that real? Here’s what you need to know about the pair in Season 3.

Are John B and Sarah actually married in season 3 of Outer Banks?

It’s no spoiler to clarify that John B and Sarah are not legally married Outer Banks Season 3. Since they are both minors and made the decision in Season 2 to bond emotionally in marriage, their union is not legal.

So when viewers stumble upon additional clues that John B and Sarah are “married.” Outer Banks Season 3, just know it’s not a legally binding marriage. Can you imagine Ward Cameron of all people opting out and allowing his daughter to marry a Pogue?

When the young lovers are stranded in the Bahamas at the start of Season 2, they live in the moment as tomorrow was not guaranteed. They recite vows alone and John B rips off a piece of his prized headscarf for Sarah to wear. It’s a sweet gesture.

Of course, no one knows what the future holds for these Pogues, and perhaps John B and Sarah will officially tie the knot Outer Banks Season 4 or another season in the future. You were probably a little too busy with other things to walk down the aisle in Season 3.
