Arnold Schwarzenegger, bicyclist collide in Brentwood traffic

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was involved in a traffic accident in Brentwood on Sunday, a source close to the politician confirmed.

TMZ first reported the collision and published photos of Schwarzenegger, 75, seated in his GMC Yukon. The collision occurred between Schwarzenegger and a cyclist, the news agency reported.

A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman declined to identify those involved, but confirmed officers responded around 10:30 a.m. at San Vicente Boulevard and Burlingame Avenue.

“No crime was committed,” said LAPD officer Mike Lopez. He said the cyclist had no life-threatening injuries. TMZ reported the cyclist went to the emergency room.

Last year, Schwarzenegger was involved in a four-vehicle accident on Sunset Boulevard and Allenford Avenue in Brentwood, an incident that left a woman hospitalized with minor injuries.

Schwarzenegger won the governorship in 2003 when Governor Gray Davis was recalled. In recent years he has focused on climate change and eradicating gerrymandering.
