The Gunners start slowly as Nottingham Forest were close at first but Brennan Johnson missed his one-on-one chance.

And the visitors had to pay when Eddie Nketiah shot past his former team-mate Matt Turner in the 26th minute.

The goal got Arsenal going as Bukayo Saka opened up his goal of the season with a brilliant shot seven minutes later.

The hosts suffered a setback when new signing Jurrien Timber was dismissed through injury in the second half.

To make matters worse for the Gunners, Taiwo Awoniyi’s clever finish put Forest back in the game in the 82nd minute.

However, Arsenal were able to hold their own, starting the season with a whopping three points.
