Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Graham Potter’s Chelsea could bid €50m (£44m) for AC Milan defensive midfielder Ismael Bennacer, according to CMW.
Arsenal and Chelsea linked with offers for Ismael Bennacer
The Italian news outlet’s report claims that Arsenal and Chelsea are both keen on Bennacer and that the two Premier League clubs could make €50million (£44million) offers for the Algerian international.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, while there are hints in the Italian media that the defensive midfielder may already have an offer from Liverpool.
Bennacer, who was on the Arsenal books from 2015 to 2017, is under contract with Milan until the summer of 2024.
Could there be a January transfer?
We don’t think Arsenal will pay €50m for AC Milan defensive midfielder Ismael Bennacer in the January transfer window.
Chelsea could make an offer as the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could use a dynamic 25-year-old midfielder as they will need someone like that next summer.
However, with Gabriel Jesus injured, Arsenal will need to sign a striker in January and we don’t think they’ll shell out €50m (£44m) for a midfielder they’re not desperate for.
