ARSENAL star Bukayo Saka has been named English Player of the Year for the second year in a row.

And his latest singles award was presented to him by none other than James Maddison, and fans have been enthralled by the idea of ​​a Tottenham player rewarding a rival gunner.

Saka, 22, was voted the outstanding member of Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions side last season by fans on his birthday.

He edged out midfielder Jude Bellingham and captain Harry Kane to secure the win.

Saka scored seven goals in ten games in the 2022/23 season, three of which came at the World Cup.

And it is the second year running that he has been awarded English football’s top solo prize.

It’s certainly been a tumultuous week for Saka, who has also been named PFA Young Player of the Season while also being included in the Premier League Team of the Year.

But fans couldn’t help but comment on the fact that his England award was presented by none other than a Tottenham player.

Former Leicester star Maddison has powered his new club with two goals and two assists in his first four games.

The playmaker looked proud as he shook hands with Saka before presenting the Arsenal star with his trophy.

But fans couldn’t overlook the north London rivalry, with one saying: “It’s beautiful… a Spurs player to deliver something like that to the star boy.”
