Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun sends fans into panic with cryptic tweet as they beg him to snub transfer exit

FOLARIN BALOGUN panicked Arsenal fans with a cryptic tweet this morning.

The forward shone on loan at Reims last season.

Balogun’s 21 goals in Ligue 1 has caught the attention of some elite European clubs.

SunSport announced last week that the Gunners bosses have put a £35million price tag on the 21-year-old starlet.

However, many Arsenal fans would prefer it if he were given a chance in the team.

Cheerful and up early this morning, Balogun got fans talking with his social media post.

In a post from Enfield, he used an egg timer emoji before writing, “It’s time!”

One fan replied: “Are you staying mate?”

While a second wrote: “Time to return home and fight for your place on the team.”

A third asked: “What does that mean???”

Another demanded: “Stay and fight for your spot man.”

Should he stay at the Emirates, Balogun could start the pecking order behind Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and newcomer Kai Havertz.

RB Leipzig and both Milan clubs are among the European sides believed to be watching Balogun’s situation.

While Marseille are the latest team to be credited with an interest as they are in the hunt for a strike partner for ex-Gooner Alexis Sanchez.

Today is being dubbed “Unofficial Transfer Deadline Day” by some in the industry.

That’s because deals closed before midnight tonight will count towards financial accounts for the 2022-23 season.

This can play a big part in complying with Financial Fair Play regulations, especially for teams that have spent heavily.

Arsenal spent over £160m on signings last season before spending a further £65m on Havertz.

After the departures of Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno and Konstantinos Mavropanos, they have only managed around £20m in player sales over the period.
