Asian Para Games postponed due to COVID-19 impact in China

With the 2022 Asian Games, scheduled to be held in China’s Hangzhou, postponed until next year, the Asian Games follow.

The Hangzhou Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (HAPGOC) and the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) confirmed the postponement of the Asian Para Games. The event was originally scheduled to take place from October 9 to 15.

This announcement comes after the decision of the Olympic Council of Asia and the organizers of the Hangzhou Asian Games to postpone the 2022 Asian Games due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in China.

Holding such an event would not be possible given the current circumstances in China and the host city.

Task force working to schedule Asian Para Games

A task force consisting of the APC, the Chinese Paralympic Committee and the HAPGOC will now work to reschedule the Games to take place in 2023.

In a media statement, Asian Paralympic Committee President Majid Rashed said that although the decision to postpone the Games was not an easy one, the organizers, together with the stakeholders involved, will work on those dates. New Day. He say:

“The preparations for the Olympics are going very well and HAPGOC is ready to deliver excellent Games. This was not an easy decision to make but we made it now to bring it to life. providing a level of certainty for IFs, NPCs and athletes planning to attend the Olympics.
