Asmongold finally returns to FFXIV after nine month long hiatus

Twitch star Asmongold made his triumphant return to Eorzea, streaming Final Fantasy XIV Online on his main channel for the first time in nine months.

Asmongold made a splash in July 2021 when he streamed FFXIV for the very first time, raking in over $30,000 on his first broadcast of the MMO.

The 30-year-old loved the game and even finished his main story very quickly. Despite streaming tons of the game after dropping World of Warcraft for it, he ended up putting it down for quite a while.

Now the OTK streamer has returned to the world of Eorzea to play the Stormblood expansion.

Asmongold finally returned to FFXIV after a long wait.

Asmongold returns to FFXIV with a massive Twitch stream

The One True King founder had not aired FFXIV since September 11, 2021. When Asmon went live on June 21, it marked the end of a nine-month hiatus from the MMO.

He returned to the game to play the Stormblood expansion and loved the opening trailer.

After watching the trailer, he said, “I forgot how good the cinematics were. Yes, that is really very high quality. Holy shit.”

The time starts at 6:37 am

The stream peaked at 86,000 viewers, which is far higher than any peak broadcast when it left the game almost a full year ago.

When the streamer returned to his level 72 Dark Knight called Asmongold Bald, he spent hours running through the expansion’s main story quest, feeling nostalgic the whole time.

Though his return to the game was delayed as he previously stated he wanted to return in April, his return has been as epic as expected.
