Aston Villa star Tyrone Mings stretchered off in distress and in protective boot after injury against Newcastle

ASTON VILLA star Tyrone Mings was carried away on a stretcher, his leg in a brace, during worrying scenes in St James’ Park.

The defender was involved in a 50-50 battle for the ball with Newcastle star Alexander Isak and appeared to fall awkwardly.

He had his head on his hands and was visibly distraught as he left the Premier League clash.

It appeared to be an ankle injury.
