Astromancer is one of the most unique classes in Rogue Legacy 2. Blades, guns, and bows are effective, but their power is less than that of the stars above. Astromancers harness the potential of the outside world to destroy any enemy that dares to stand before them. As a trade-off for this class’s incredible strength and massive Mana resources, the Astromancer has the lowest base health of any class. Surviving with such low health can be very difficult. To help you do so, we’ve put together this helpful guide to Astromancer Weapons, Abilities, and Passives in Rogue Legacy 2.
Unlocking Astromancer requires your castle to be level 42. This and Pirate are the first classes you can unlock after level 36. If you’ve unlocked Chef, the other upgrades needed to access Astromancer are Library and Math Club. Any additional castle upgrades required to reach level 42 must be spent on upgrades that improve Intelligence. Intelligence is important for some classes in Rogue Legacy 2but is said to be none other than the Astromancer himself.
Rogue Legacy 2: Astromancer Class Guide – Weapons, Abilities, and Passives
A scepter is a scepter once held by a ruling king or someone of historical significance. We don’t know the exact history of the Astromancer’s weapon of choice, the Celestial Scepter, but given its extraordinary abilities, it may have once been wielded by a creature of incredible strength. Swinging the Celestial Scepter splits reality by creating a black hole directly in front of the maker. Any enemies within the black hole’s effect will continuously take damage until they are able to escape. This damage becomes critical damage if the enemy is standing right in the middle of the black hole.
The damage over time aspect of the Celestial Scepter makes it an interesting weapon. Each individual hit by the black hole is relatively weak, but over its duration it deals an unusual amount of damage. Therefore, the strategy is to put it down and then move around it so that the enemy doesn’t get out of its reach. Speaking of reach, the black hole’s hitbox is huge, making it a great tool for damaging enemies on the other side of walls or on platforms above you. It is possible to take out enemies in these positions without giving them a chance to fight back.
Comet Form is the talent for the Astromancer class in Rogue Legacy 2. It does exactly what its name suggests: when cast, the Astromancer inherits the characteristics of a comet. You can speed around the rooms and freely fly over enemies. As an added bonus, this gives you the Concealment ability, which makes you immune to damage while Comet Form is active. It lasts just under two seconds and has a cooldown of seven seconds. Although, Amplification Rune can be used to prolong its duration.
As with any ability that gives Concealment, Comet Form provides a great escape option. If you have a problem, just activate it and fly back to a safe location. Although its main use is for survival, Comet Form also has an annoying use. Enemies within the outer aura of this talent are damaged. By placing a black hole down on an enemy and then using Comet Form to fly into them, you can deal some spectacular explosive damage.
Everyone loves the simple yet effective passive ability, and that’s exactly what you get with Grand Vision. Grand Vision is a passive skill for the Astromancer class in Rogue Legacy 2. Its main effect is to increase the Heir’s Intelligence by 20%, which increases magic damage. Given the Astromancer’s massive Mana pool, you’ll want to cast as many spells as possible. So having those spells deal more damage is obviously a good thing.
Keeping your Mana high is also not difficult with this class. Grand Vision also makes all damage dealt generate Mana. Each individual hit generates 1 Mana, which is amazing, as this class is only about dealing with as many hits as possible in quick succession. Using Celestial Scepter and Comet Form regularly makes it hard for you to run out of Mana, even if you try.
