ATM targeted in smash-and-grab robbery at BECU in Northgate

SEATTLE — An ATM machine targeted in a robbery and robbery was dragged nearly a mile from Northgate Bank early Monday morning before it was found, according to police.
Police said the suspects used a vehicle to steal an ATM at the BECU credit union in Northeast Northgate Way. Employees found the damaged ATM about 0.5 miles from the bank’s location. Wet piles of money were found scattered along the road along with ATMs, which can weigh up to 1,000 pounds.
Investigators are looking for suspects and vehicles involved in the robbery.
Investigators said several cars and mailboxes were collided when the suspects tried to drive with the ATM.
