Baby goats at Nashville Zoo

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Many people in Middle Tennessee are no strangers to goats or baby goats, and the trio at the Nashville Zoo are adorable!

Nashville Zoo Hospital keeper Courtney Blakey introduced us to three baby goats, Mirabelle, Bruno and Louisa, all named after the movie Encanto.

“We are finishing up feeding them with bottles,” says Blakey, “They are at our nursery at the hospital for about another week before they will arrive at their permanent home at Contact. ”

“Contact” with visitors to the Nashville Zoo means “Creature Encounters,” where visitors can interact with goats and other animals.

“They are full of personality,” Blakey said, “They are very chatty and very cute, as you can see. So they definitely know us. As soon as they see one, they think there will be milk involved. So they definitely want to come. They want to be involved with you. They want to contact you. So they’ll be great animals to take down at our Critter Encounter. “

And they are not difficult animals to keep.

“Goats are quite easy to raise in manual rearing,” Blakey points out. “It’s a pretty normal thing. Lots of farmers in the backyard and goat farmers at home a lot. So they are not too difficult. However, they are very happy. I will tell you that! ”

And they are full of energy.

“They are endless balls of energy,” says Blakey. “They love to run and play and some kind of parkour moves away from the walls, from all their toys, and away from us. So yes, they have endless energy, especially when they think it’s time to feed. “

And as babies, they do cute baby things.

“They cuddled and took a nap,” says Blakey, “They are definitely babies. So they’ll run around and do all sorts of crazy baby stuff, then they’ll take a bottle and then they’ll start taking a nap. And just as adorable. ”

So next time you’re at the Nashville Zoo, stop by Critter Encounters and say hello, or maybe “baaaa” to the baby goats! Baby goats at Nashville Zoo
