Filming for the new series will begin in August/September 2023.

Interested candidates are strongly advised to include “Doctor Who” after their full name on the application form in order to be selected.

The advert was published on the BBC website instead of the Bargain Hunt website to encourage more people to apply.

The Twitter page announcing the Doctor Who news was @DoctorwhoPN, who wrote: “The BBC is seeking Doctor Who fans for ‘Bargain Hunt’ for filming in August/September 2023. Apply below.” https://bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/bargain-hunt-application-form.”

Fans of ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Bargain Hunt’ were quick to comment, writing, ‘How would that even work? Where would you find so much used Who stuff? And would it even be sold at auction?”

A second commented: “Applied – I forgot to put Doctor Who after my name though, despite mentioning Doctor Who in my application. I hope this will be okay!”

A third wrote: “This is going to be the funnest way to get the Daleks master plan back.”

A fourth commented: “I curse myself for living in New Zealand.”

A fifth asked: “How did you find out? I can’t find anything on the Bargain Hunt website.”

A deadline for applications has not yet been set.

Bargain Hunt airs weekdays at 4:30pm on BBC One.
