BBC Breakfast’s Nina Warhurst gives birth as the baby’s gender is revealed

BBC Breakfast’s Nina Warhurst has given birth to a baby girl.
The 43-year-old journalist already has two sons with her husband Ed.
On today’s show, fellow co-workers Jon Kay and Sally Nugent shared the wonderful news that Nina has given birth to a baby girl.
Sallly, 51, said: “There is now very exciting news about our colleague Nina Warhurst, who we said goodbye to not too many days ago as she went on maternity leave.”
“She gave birth to a very healthy, beautiful baby girl.”
BBC Breakfast viewers were then shown images of the newborn on screen and Jon, 53, added: “And there she is.”
“Nina has told us the baby’s name is in the works, but the good news is they are all doing well after the team at St Mary’s in Manchester gave them excellent care, says Nina. Is not she gorgeous?”
Sally continued, “I think so too – Nina said she’ll be watching from home in the morning, Nina!”
“Together with the baby and two beautiful older brothers, she is so grateful for all the great news she got from the people at home who are also watching.”
“So she wants to pass on her thanks for everything — all the kind words people have said.”
Jon continued: “And all the best to you and the family, Nina. That’s fantastic, we’re happy for you.”
Nina confirmed her pregnancy on Mother’s Day after weeks of speculation.
She continued to work on the show – and the Eurovision Song Contest – until the end of her pregnancy, only going on maternity leave on June 21.
BBC Breakfast is broadcast daily from 6am on BBC One.
