Shockingly, those close to Becky said they were baffled by her alleged failure to act.

A source said, “Becky’s team cannot understand why Coleen’s team has time to issue press releases but has not responded by the statutory time limit to respond to the charges.”

“They have sent questions about certain parts of the bill but have still not received a response.

“Becky wants a quick fix so she can move on and thinks Coleen’s team is falling behind.”

The Sun first revealed how upset Becky was over the £1.8million bill Coleen sent her in April.

People close to Becky said they believe some of the costs appear excessive.

Coleen’s team has denied this. They say the costs charged were completely normal.

In a bombastic statement, Coleen also revealed how she gave Becky extra time to pay her the £800,000 court-ordered after she struggled with the payment.

They told The Sun yesterday: “Although the court had ordered Ms Vardy to pay Ms Rooney £800,000 by 15 November 2022 at the latest, Ms Vardy instead advised she would need more time to raise that sum of money.”

“Ms Vardy has asked Ms Rooney to give her significantly more time to raise the necessary funds.”

The statement continued: “Ms Rooney has decided to give Ms Vardy the additional time to raise the money as Ms Vardy had requested.

“Although Ms Rooney was free to consider enforcement action against Ms Vardy, such as hiring bailiffs or even seeking bankruptcy, Ms Rooney declined and allowed her additional time to make the payment.”

Coleen’s team also responded to Becky’s anger at the £1.8million cost bill she was issued after the trial.

The Sun reported yesterday that Becky had declared a “war” over some numbers that her team said appeared to have been inflated.

However, Coleen’s team said she had repeatedly attempted to avoid the trial by pursuing her defamation lawsuit — Becky brought the lawsuit herself.

Coleen’s team added, “From the beginning of this case, Ms. Rooney has said publicly that the case should not have proceeded and that the funds provided for legal expenses should be put to charity or put to some other use.”

“Ms Rooney has made many attempts to reach an agreement with Ms Vardy.”
