Bellmawr Hit-and-Run: 9-year-old struck by driver near Ethel M. Burke Elementary School in Camden County, New Jersey

BELLMAWR, NJ (WPVI) — Bellmawr, Camden County police are searching for a pickup truck driver who hit a teenage girl near an elementary school.

It happened Monday morning in the area of ​​the Ethel M. Burke Elementary School, which is located at 112 S. Black Horse Pike.

The Bellmawr Police Department says the driver hit the 9-year-old girl just before school started.

According to the authorities, the driver immediately fled the scene.

The child was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. She was treated and released.

Police on Tuesday released images of the vehicle, which they say has a cracked rear window and damaged front bumper.
