“If I cast out demons, my angels can leave too, and when they do, they are hard to find.” –Tom waits

Welcome, are you satisfied right now? Because that’s all Better to call Saul You will receive it between now and July 11th! I sincerely hoped we could see “D-Day” play out in the semi-final finale tonight, but we’ve got a spoiler instead. This suggests that the consequences for Kim’s impulsive turn may actually be consequential.

This episode is primarily about Kim and her conflicted self, demonstrated by a cold openness. At first, we thought we were learning a lesson from her (well, she rebelled against her domineering mother by breaking the rules!) But instead we were. learned another lesson (oh damn, her mom is a Jimmy-style con, and Kim herself is caught between her own A-student angels and the rogue devil!!!) .

In today’s timeline, Kim’s angels are represented by Cliff Main, who wants to sponsor her for a new initiative by the Jackson Mercer Charity Foundation. This is Kim’s really her dream, and her shady campaign against Howard, is ironically what could have made it happen. Knowing how much that means to her, Jimmy is happy to let her focus on making a good impression while he does the dirty work of storming Omaha Beach. But plans go awry when he accidentally crosses the street with the new judge Sandpiper and realizes he has a huge cast on his arm—

But I’m getting ahead of myself a little bit.

This episode may not provide any form of ending, but it at least brought us closer to understanding the contours of Kim and Jimmy’s plan. We learn that they hired Joey Dixon and his cheery group of film students to put together a black and white photo of Jimmy to repay the judge, as portrayed by an overzealous guest. We can infer that this photo is intended to look like the one where Howard’s private eyes snapped at Jimmy and Jimmy. Wanted Howard to see him withdraw $20,000 in cash. We also know that, with the help of Dr. Caldera, a veterinarian, Jimmy personally tested a black market drug that will mess you up and turn your pupils into black holes. . We can infer that the drug was intended for Howard, to simulate his alleged cocaine habit.

We learn that Jimmy asked Francesca to steal credentials for Sandpiper’s major plaintiffs conference call. We can deduce that Jimmy has a plan to disrupt that call and stir up some kind of chaos. And we do know that Kim and Jimmy held a fun impromptu party on the lawn outside the Howard law firm, presumably where the live portion of the call would take place.

So I’m really bad at formulating TV conspiracy theories, but it seems probably the plan was to incite Howard to falsely accuse the judge of taking bribes from Jimmy on a Sandpiper conference call, while also making Howard coffee so that when Cliff asked him what the heck was on him, Howard looked and acted. like a man. deep in the devil’s bucket, thus prompting Cliff to announce that they will accept the table settlement?
