Arsenal remain two points ahead of Manchester City for top spot in the EPL after week 14, while Chelsea are still in the top six after suffering a 4-1 defeat by Brighton last week. Who do you like in this matchup and why?

Paul Carr: Arsenal are real and rank a shadow behind Manchester City in most underlying numbers this season. Chelsea were illegitimate, finishing 13th on expected goal difference (-3.1) this season and conceding the third-best shots of any Premier League team. With all Chelsea’s injury woes I like Arsenal in this one (+180)although I’d rather have a price closer to +200.

DanielThomas: I can’t wait for this game. Arsenal have been so impressive so far this season and will rightly go into this clash with confidence. Chelsea suffered their first defeat under Graham Potter against Brighton, where they were particularly poor in defence. I expect Arsenal to exploit those weaknesses this weekend and I think so Gunners will claim victory.

Fulham are looking to return to the Etihad Stadium to take on defending champions Manchester City. Fulham are unbeaten in four games and have quickly climbed to seventh in the table. Do you like the Lilywhites getting ready this week or will Pep Guardiola’s side claim the win?

Automobile: With both sides in the top four in total goals per game this season, Etihad are obviously expected to score as their price tag of over 3.5 goals suggests (-150). i prefer to play both teams to score (-115), as Fulham aren’t a pack-it-in team, even on the road. They have recorded at least eight shots and 0.7 expected goals in all six away games this season, scoring against both Arsenal and Tottenham. City will score as they have in every home game this season and I think Fulham will score as well.

Thomas: City to thrash Fulham. Erling Haaland or not, expect a big win.

Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to stay among the top teams in the EPL while Liverpool are hoping for a fourth-place finish at best after a dreadful start to the season. Can Hotspur capitalize on Liverpool’s away struggles or will Jurgen Klopp’s club pull off the surprise?

Automobile: Even after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Napoli, I can’t take the Reds here. Tuesday’s game was played at Anfield and Liverpool are unbeaten in away league games this season (D2 L3) including a stunning defeat at Nottingham Forest two weeks ago. It’s not that Liverpool have been unlucky, not with an expected goal difference of -2.2 in those five away games. Tottenham have been good at White Hart Lane this season, winning five out of six league games but have yet to meet any of the traditional top six teams there. Son Heung-Min’s absence makes that pull (+265) even more likely, and that’s my game.

Thomas: Depends on which Spurs show up. They keep forgetting to play in the first half which could cost them big bucks in recent games. Liverpool lost to Forest and Leeds before this game but I just have a feeling The Reds can get all three points from North London.

What are you watching in the other European leagues?

Thomas: There can be some value Gerard Pique scores a goal in his very last home game for Barca. Maybe there’s a ceremonial pen he’ll be allowed to take with him before setting off into the Catalan sunset.

What’s your best bet for the weekend?

Automobile: As always, I’ll go with you both teams to score in a Leicester City away game (-130), this at Everton on Saturday. The Foxes somehow didn’t concede in their 4-0 win at Wolves two weeks ago, despite conceding 21 shots and 2.1 goals expected. Now they face an Everton side who appear to have good defense after conceding 12 goals this season, fourth fewest in the league. But the Toffees have given up 19.6 expected goals without a penalty, the second-highest in the league. With two not very good defences, I expect both teams to score at least one goal here.
