Beyoncé now holds the record for most Grammy wins at 32 awards

Beyoncé has broken the record for most Grammys ever won, surpassing conductor Georg Solti with her 32nd win. This officially makes Queen Bey the most-awarded artist in the 64-year history of the Grammy Awards.
The historic award was the 2023 Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album, presented to Beyoncé for her album Renaissance. The singer had taken on Bonobo fragments, diploma by Diplo, Odesza’s The last farewellAnd Give up by Rüfus Du Sol.
The announcement of Beyonce’s victory was met with sustained cheers and a standing ovation from the audience.
“I try not to be too emotional,” Beyoncé said in her acceptance speech. “I’m just trying to receive this night.”

The award marked Beyoncé’s fourth Grammy win of the night, having previously won Best R&B Song for “Cuff It.”(Opens in a new window) Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic Off the Sofa”(Opens in a new window) and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Break My Soul.” Her nine nominations also make her the most-nominated artist at the Grammys this year – although she didn’t win Album of the Year, as some had hoped(Opens in a new window).
In addition to thanking God and her family, Beyoncé made special mention of her late “uncle” Jonny, her mother’s nephew and a gay man who died from HIV. She has previously credited him as the one who introduced her to the inspirational music and culture Renaissance(Opens in a new window)and explicitly included it in his song “Heated”.(Opens in a new window) (“Uncle Jonny made my dress / That cheap spandex, she looks a mess”).
She also thanked “the queer community for their love and for inventing the genre.”
