Missouri, Arkansas, Nebraska, Kansas, South Carolina and Iowa allege in federal court that they would be injured if they were forgiven by the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP). Private lenders originated those loans before the Democrats nationalized the student loan market in 2010. About $214 billion remained, most of which was traded in the private market.
