Bill Bar warns against Trump second term: ‘He will deliver chaos’

Bill Barr has warned Donald Trump is getting a second term as president and warned his former boss would “bring havoc” to the country.

The former US attorney general slammed the favorite for the 2024 Republican nomination when asked by TV host Geraldo Rivera if Mr Trump was “fit” for the office.

“If you believe his policies, which he advertises as his policies, he is the last person who could actually execute and achieve them,” Mr. Barr said Friday at a luncheon at the City Club of Cleveland in Ohio.

Mr Barr said the president “doesn’t have the discipline for one term. He doesn’t have the ability to think strategically and linearly or to prioritize or get things done in the system.”

“It’s a horror show when he’s left to his own devices,” added the ex-attorney general. “So you may want his politics, but Trump won’t deliver Trump politics. He will spread chaos.”

And he said the chaos would result in Mr Trump’s policy being set “much further back than it otherwise would be”.

Mr Barr, who has publicly chastised the former president since leaving office, said last month that he viewed Mr Trump as a “weak” candidate for 2024, although he would back him if he secured the GOP nomination.

“I think he’s already a weak candidate who would lose, but I think that’s a kind of insurance.” Mr Barr told ABC This week.
