Bishop Lamor Whitehead of the Fed ARRESTED on charges of fraud, racketeering and false testimony… 65 years ago!

Brooklyn Bishop Lamor Whitehead was released on $500,000 bail after being charged over the weekend and arraigned in federal court in Manhattan on Monday.

Whitehead, who faces charges of fraud, racketeering and lying to the FBI, is accused of defrauding a parishioner out of $90,000. He pleaded “not guilty”.

It’s not clear where the 44-year-old Brooklyn preacher got the $50,000 in cash to secure his $500,000 bond.

The federal judge ordered Bishop Whitehead to surrender his passport, limit his travel to New Jersey, New York and Connecticut, and not contact any of the alleged victims or witnesses.

Bishop Whitehead will be confined to his $3 million Bergen County mansion. Plus, he and his wife can—at least for now—keep their designer clothes, gaudy jewelry, and fleet of luxury vehicles.

Federal officials say he funded his lavish lifestyle with money stolen from his community and other victims.

A grand jury indictment in the US District Court in Manhattan alleges that he defrauded a woman out of $90,000 after telling her he would buy her a house and renovate it with her money.

Instead, authorities said he used the woman’s money to buy fancy clothes and other luxury items.

Whitehead also allegedly extorted a businessman out of $5,000 and asked him for a $500,000 loan in exchange for using his influence with New York Mayor Eric Adams, according to the indictment.

“Lamor Whitehead betrayed a parishioner’s trust in him, bullied a businessman for $5,000, then attempted to cheat him out of much more than that and lied to federal agents,” said Damian Williams, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Monday. “His campaign of deceit and deception will now stop.”
