BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022: Recap

The 2022 BLAST Premier Spring Finals kicked off on June 15 with group stage matches. Eventual champions NAVI were only tied for second in Group B, although their last opponent Vitality also ended up in Group A there.

By playoff time, however, s1mple and company were in full form, defeating FaZe 2-0 in the quarterfinals. The semifinals match against OG would prove to be the playoffs’ biggest test, but NAVI managed to survive with a 2-1 win and the finals reach.

On the other side of the table, Vitality effortlessly handled ENCE in the Quarterfinals while narrowly overcoming G2 in a match that came to the point on Nuke.

At the Grand Finals, everything was NAVI. Despite a massive roster reshuffle, the Ukraine squad appeared seemingly untouchable on the final day of BLAST Spring 2022. After defeating Mirage by a score of 16-8, they outdid themselves on Overpass and dominated Vitality 16-5 to wrap things up.

It’s been a wild few weeks leading up to the tournament for NAVI, parting ways with IGL Boombl4 due to personal issues. This didn’t seem to have slowed them down in the slightest, however, as s1mple led the way to another first place.
