Blizzard has ramped up its marketing for Diablo Immortal, has indeed been confirmed for a PC release in June. That is, of course, in our sights as a PC gaming site. We can no longer mock from the dark. Yesterday, Blizzard released a new developer update of the game. It previewed some new upcoming regions Diablo Immortal while teasing the boss’s enemies.
Diablo Immortal there was a closed beta not long ago on mobile, but it’s not the full game. The developer update introduces some never-before-seen content, which will be playable when the game lands next month. Of course, it’s all new Diablo Immortal Areas bear names that are not unfamiliar to connoisseurs Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. Want to know what lurks in the Forest of Sorrows? Well, look for the initiative, and then read on.
The Forest of Misery is where you’ll go through the trailer after you complete the Frozen Tundra story quest. From what I can gather in the accompanying concept art, it’s some trees that aren’t actually trees. Instead, the creatures that “failed with Skarn” were turned into trees, and the display wasn’t very pleasant.
“In the dark, swarms of Rasplets and Gnarled Pawns, demons who defeated Skarn and let their bodies merge with parts of the kingdom as punishment,” the area’s description reads.
After the forest, you will stumble across The Last Vestige. A Plantation for Survivors, The Last Vestige maybe is a safe zone in Diablo Immortalbut that hardly means it will be completely free of demonic attacks.
Bring the baddies
The last update introduced us to one of the bosses of Diablo ImmortaI – or, really, maybe the game sucks. Skarn is a demon known as the Messenger of Terror. He has a relationship with Diablo as a former lieutenant, but is now assembling a new army. The update shows Skarn in all his multi-limb glory. He lives in an area called Devil’s Gate, which looks exactly like you’d expect. Jet-black spiers dot the land, separated by flowing magma rivers. We also get a glimpse of a dungeon known as the Pit of Anguish, which hides “knife-wielding demon cultivators” and “screen-filling boss battles”. Sounds like a pleasure.
For those interested, Blizzard also included some examples of in-game audio. You can hear what Skarn (voiced by Steve Blum) sounds like, if you want, as well as Verathiel, voiced by Kimberly Brooks.
Diablo Immortal landed on PC and mobile in open beta as a cross-platform game on June 2nd.
