Blizzard reveals Junkrat’s Overwatch 2 redesign and fans think he looks like xQc

Junkrat’s long-awaited Overwatch 2 redesign has been revealed in a new Junker Queen gameplay trailer, and fans are finding the DPS hero looks a lot like Twitch star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel.

Overwatch 2 introduced hero redesigns and often featured them quietly in gameplay footage and trailers. Finally, on June 21, the developers showed Junkrats.

This redesign adds goggles to the explosive hero’s head while turning his green and yellow trunks to a dark red.

Fans have embraced the trash mouse’s new look, but amusingly, some believe he bears a striking resemblance to former Overwatch League pro xQc.

Overwatch 2 fans compare Junkrat to xQc

In a post on Reddit documenting the change, one user noted that the hero looks similar to the Twitch streamer. “Just looks like xQc honestly,” they wrote. “I was wondering if he would ever get his own skin!”

Others seemed to agree, asking the user to delete their comment because they “can’t miss” the resemblance.

A similar sentiment was shared Twitter with a user joking that the skin might add some xQc language lines.

“Since Junk looks the same as xQc, I’m going to start a petition to add more appropriate language lines, like ‘Shut up you’re junk,'” they wrote.

So far, the French-Canadian hasn’t commented on the comparisons, but we’ll update this with his take if he shares one.

It’s not clear if Blizzard based the redesign on xQc at all, but since Overwatch is trying to eliminate real-world references, it’s likely just a coincidence. Still, it would certainly be interesting if Overwatch started adding streamer-related skins that players can unlock with their new Battle Pass.
