B&M Bargains fire: Huge blaze engulfs discount store in Blackburn as shoppers evacuated

SHOPPERS had to be evacuated from a B&M store after a major fire broke out.
Flames erupted from the store black fire last night as black smoke billowed over the retail park.

Firefighters are still battling the blaze today, having managed to prevent it from spreading to neighboring businesses.
No one was injured in the horror as shoppers were evacuated from B&M as the fire took hold.
Road closures are now in place near Peel Retail Park while firefighters remain on site.
Residents were asked to keep doors and windows closed if they smelled smoke.
Blackburn Fire Station said: “At the peak we had 10 fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms on duty.
“We had to use water cannon and tactical firefighting to stop the fire from spreading to Halfords.
“The business is still running this morning.
“We cannot say at this time what caused the fire but no one was injured and B&M Bargains staff ensured everyone was evacuated safely.”
