Superintendent Jane Topping said: “We are still investigating the exact circumstances that led to the death of this child. Our first inquiries are ongoing and will continue over the weekend.
“Of course, such a discovery is extremely disturbing for everyone involved.
“We ask people not to speculate on social media about the identity of the child or the circumstances of his death.
“A highly visible presence of officers is likely to remain in the areaa few days with tranquilizer patrols.
“These officers are available to speak to affected members of the community.
“This is a rapidly advancing investigation and we are appealing to the local community to receive any information that may support this investigation.”
